Roz Chviek – Owner and President
Roz began her working career in 1967 with the Aberdeen
Manufacturing Company. Roz worked on many levels beginning as a
bin/service person. She was promoted to a machine operator while also
serving as the union steward. When Aberdeen initiated a kitchen accessory
product line, Roz was chosen to manage the operation. The kitchen line
flourished for several years under Roz’s leadership until management
decided to discontinue the product. Roz was immediately promoted to
Production Manager for the facility and continued in that position until
the company downsized its operations and closed the factory in 1992.
Shortly after the closing, Roz became an owner and President of LeRocato
Manufacturing, a position she continues to hold to this day.
A lifelong resident to Plainfield, Roz has been very active in the
community and the local government. Roz has held positions on the Board of
Education, Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Tax Revue, treasurer of the
Richard Mercier Election campaign and the Democratic Town Committee. She
is also a notary and a Justice of the Peace. As proof of her dedication to
the community, Roz has volunteered her time by coaching softball and
basketball, served as president of the high school athletic boosters, a
member of the Home School Association and the Danielson Rotary Club. A
longtime member of the Plainfield Lions Club, Roz has served as president,
secretary, membership chairperson and director. Roz has also served the
Lions club on the state level as district chairperson for membership and
youth services.
Tom Beausoleil – Owner and Vice President
Tom entered the working world in 1984 immediately after
graduating from Thames Valley State Technical College from their
Industrial Electronics Program. Like Roz, Tom began working for the
Aberdeen Manufacturing Company. Starting out as a member of the building
maintenance team, Tom was quickly drafted by the Research and Development
department as a fabricator and designer of new equipment. As his
experience in the sewing trade grew, he became a floor technician
responsible for the general maintenance and repair of all factory
equipment. When the Aberdeen factory was closed in October of 1992,
LeRocato Manufacturing was in its early planning stages and Tom took an
interim position at Aberdeen’s Fall River Massachusetts factory until a
more “close to home” job became available. Kay Dee Designs in Hope Valley
RI expressed interest in hiring Tom as their Maintenance supervisor and he
accepted the position in early 1993. At Kay Dee Designs, Tom was
responsible for all facilities and equipment, including the printing and
manufacturing process equipment though out the factory. Tom resigned from
the Kay Dee position in the spring of 1994 to begin working at LeRocato as
Vice President. Tom has remained in this position until present day. Tom
also has worked for Apple Computer as an in-store product demonstrator and
Macintosh consultant.
Also a lifelong resident of Plainfield, Tom’s community interests include
being a former member and past president of the Thames River Apple
Computer Users Group. Tom has also been a member of the Plainfield Lions
Club since 1998, holding offices including President, Secretary, and a
Board of Directors member. Tom has also served the CT Lions on the state
level by serving as District Diabetes Chairman, Zone Chairman and is
currently serving as Cabinet Secretary/Treasurer for CT Lions District
23c.
